With the no-lift shifting , the engine maintains it's rpms when you push in the clutch, preventing it from just climbing right up and hitting the rev limiter no matter how long it takes you to complete the shift.

With the conventional method of power-shifting, if you shift fast enough, all is good. If you miss a gear, the engine will continue to rev right on up.
