F the compression, get a good tuner with a good built motor. Low compression compensates for bad tuners. The Buick GN was a good high compression engine with boost included, you don't need a low compression unless you are doing supra boost, which is infinite. I have been around for a while specifically when it comes to boost. Higher compression and engines with vvt always respond better to boost. Since you are building the engine go with the ls3 stock compression is pretty good, but with what said, you need to get a good tune in that engine or is going to go KABOOM.
