The 2008 Malibu was a damn good car. It showed the world GM could build a class leading car.
The 2013, therefore, ended up with big shoes to fill. And honestly, it doesn't fill them all that well. It has some issues that need to be addressed. That being said, GM is getting really good at updating cars throughout their lifespan.
