I for one buy what I can afford, put film on every car I purchase, and end up getting a higher resale value out of them because they are in near perfect condition when I trade them in. For one respraying your car really hurts resale value because it shows there was damage... to what extent the dealership truly will never know... and two it is almost impossible to get a perfect match especially with todays exotic colors they are using (Cyber Grey, Atomic Orange, Imperial Blue... ). The dealership also wont have to get the car "touched up" or resprayed after taking the trade in thus cutting their costs and increasing the money that you can receive back. but hey this is all just my .02
