I'm sorry to hear your frustrating story OP, but I really appreciate you posting this because I developed this problem today. I was going to leave work and noticed I didn't have power steering as I tried to back up, WTF. Low and behold, there's a puddle underneath the radiator, passenger side with brownish liquid. There's also a trail where I tried to backup and then pulled back in. Called the local chevy dealership, but unfortunately they won't be able to get me in until Monday.
It's at my place of work right now, when it gets warmer, do you think it would be okay to hobble my car to the dealership? It's not very far. But I don't want to cause any damage to the power steering pump. If it won't harm it, I'll attempt it on Saturday when it's suppose to get up to 30F.
BTW, it was -27F this morning. Drove fine in the morning to work, but coming home, no way.
