Tough question to answer easily. They are very different exhausts and then the custom tune that you would need makes a difference also. The S Type is normally a very deep sounding exhaust which can cause drone at lower rpm's. Tunning out the AFM on an automatic helped that a lot. A manual transmission shouldn't really have a droan. I really liked the sound of the Borla. I has a deep rich powerful sound. That's what I originally wanted. It was really only when I wanted to add the headers that a new exhaust came up. I figured why not give it a try, especially with the deal they gave me by using my car as the test vehicle.

Long story short. It's personal preference. The Borla was more apparent when just cruising around. The rumble could cause some droaning notes but that's the appeal of it. The American Racing exhaust it more like stock at cruising but then explodes when you hit it hard. I really can't say which is better. I like them both in different ways.
