I'm not too worried about top speed. These cars are really heavy and getting off the line faster is exactly what they need. To me, when driving on the street, 0-60 or 40-70 is a lot more important than maxing out top speed. With 3.70 gears, the L99 gets going much quicker, and there is still plenty of top end.
