Pismo Beach in late April - early May (not as crowded) great shopping, sand dunes, and the best ice cream parlor in the country is on the way to Santa Margaritta Lake. They have a "trough" (HUGE bannanna split) if you eat it all, you get free ice cream for life.
Morrow bay at sunset (watching it set over Morrow Rock is pretty cool.)
I cant remember the name of the road, but it goes from Frasier Park to Pine Mountain Club. There is a view point that will allow you to see the entire valley (It's awesome when there is a low/high cloud cover.)
Hurst Castle.
