I have a 1991 Z28. I'm looking for a 5th gen now. I think the 5th gen is a better car, but it could never replace my third gen. The 5th gen does everything so well it can almost get a bit boring. The third gen is rough enough around the edges that is still kinda has that old muscle car feel.
I think third gens might have already hit their lowest point and prices are starting to climb some.
They are a good platform for drag racing, road racing, autocross, and make a good Friday night cruiser too; so....it's hard to tell you what to look for without knowing what you plan to do with the car.
They can be bought relatively cheap if you don't mid doing some work. It doesn't take much to make them a lot of fun.
What do you think you will use the car for mostly?
