Hey guys. I had forgotten all about this thread. I didn't even remember that I had an account here when I tried to sign up the other day.
So here is your timely update (hey its only been a shade under a decade...).
We did finish the car. It ran pretty good and Nick raced it for 2 seasons before selling it. He won a few heat races and finished as high as second in some main events. I hear that the car is still around, but I haven't been to the circle track races in years.
The biggest issue with the car at first was overheating. The e-fans weren't optimal. The second issue was our upper strut mounts. They were terribly engineered and ended up bending the tops of the strut shafts. They did, however last for 2 seasons of racing, so they must not have been too bad.
Now I'm on to bigger and better things. I just got this pile and I'm gonna turn it into a street/strip menace:
