The car is great looking, excitement is high, and fuel prices have eased up a bit." More remarkably, "84% of orders have been for V8-powered SS models so far."

At the Camaro's rollout in July, GM worked hard to reassure the press that the car would be available in a more fuel-efficient V6 edition that didn't sacrifice much performance.

Apparently, buyers tuned that news out, dreaming of the rumble of a small-block V8. Now, Motor Authority reports, GM is "warning its dealers that they will have to prepare their customers for the fact that Chevrolet won't be making 84% of its Camaros in the SS trim." Customers may be disappointed to learn that the V8 will be hard to find.

Apparently, we've all be underestimating that V8 lust. AutoWeek notes that the buyer who ordered the third Camaro SS to roll off the assembly line has already sold the car on eBay before it has even been delivered. The winning bid? A whopping $73,000 (shipping not included).
