Actually, I know exactly what you're talking about. I've done my fair share of passes as well, and it got to the point that I stopped going because the car was losing traction even in 3rd. I was getting afraid not that I was going to lose it, but that I would race someone faster that lost it and came into my lane. Basically the car had more grip on the street that on the strip.
However the past few times it has been prepped quite nicely. A couple Fridays ago it was so damn sticky I had to throw 2nd slowly otherwise I would get wheel-hop like crazy. But yeah, definitely more money; they put up some nice grandstands with much better view just recently.
