-Hey these are some pics of the parts off the car minus the shifter itself (pic 1)
- You should see this from the top (pic2) take out the four bolts in each corner this is the plate the boot is attached to
-You have to go under the car and you will see the shifter housing (upper piece in pic 1) and you will see the forks mounted in a bracket toward the rear of the car ( upper piece right side pic 1). Take off the nuts that attach the mount for the forks and slide the mount off. The studs for the nuts are attached to the bottom of the boot bracket. (pic 3).
- Now you should be able to go back in the car and move the boot with its attached plate out of the way.

If im not mistaken that is how you do it but its been a while sence I replaced mine with the MGW shifter. I hope this helps.
