Hmm....Ive just always mentally been against that because the oil the factory puts in, is what the mechanical parts are setup to run. To run a 50w oil, youre almost doubling the viscosity of what that part is designed to run. Obviously with a built engine, stock specs go out the window, and the builder should determine the oil, and the oil pump needed. A Melling is crucial for built engines or stock engines that are road raced and sustain high rpms for minutes at a time. I would by all means listen to Zeke over me OP. That is just the way Im thinking of the subject, not necessarily a fact.
