Also the large spaces between the moldings/seals and the edge of the decklid look like they will fill with water when raining and dirt and leaves over time where those lifts are anchored at the bottom. You have to keep those little ruts cleaned out on any car or else the trunk will leak water in, but these spaces are huge.
All this for the aesthetic of a tapering greenhouse and big rear fenders/"muscular haunches" They spared no strategic expense to maintain the concept car's look.
