OK, that's a different link, to a different engine (3800), with a different condition. As that link states, there is an EGR passage within the intake, the lower intake had a steel fitting that passed through the upper composite intake, on the early models, they found there was insufficient clearance between the two, that was later corrected by using a smaller diameter fitting on the lower intake.
Rest assured, the 3.6 engine has no EGR and no coolant circulated though it's intake.
