Resizing isn't too big of a hastle, though sometimes it might take a little poking around to find a way to do it.
I tend to use windows photo gallery (or whatever photo editing software may have come pre-packaged with windows). If I don't have anything like that on the computer I'm using, I'll just go with MS paint
If you get lost/frustrated trying to do it yourself on your computer, you can always try a website like
shrinkpictures.com. Just upload the picture you want, select the size and any options and you're good to go. It will resize it for you, then you can download it back to your computer
