Harsh Ride: Like riding on a go kart.... try it for a trip somewhere.

Other than that... I guess you can turn up the radio volume in the 28 in order to compensate for all the road noise due to no insulation.
The ride in the Z/28 should not be harsh. We have run 305/30/19s since 2009 with coilovers and spring rates up to 14kg front and rear. The 4kg coils might work with full slicks, but were too hard for anything close t a street tire. Running 10kg and 12 kg coils with the 305s delivers a ride that is surprising civil. The spring rates in the Z/28 have not been released, but my guess is they are lower probably close to our 8kg front and 10kg rear base coilover setup or a bit under. The special DSSV Z/28 tuned strut valving addresses harshness with well tuned high and low speed damping. The ZL1 with MRC will ride better in touring mode, but the ZL1 in full track mode shouldn't be all that different than the Z/28.

As for road noise, there are quite a few ZL1 owners that pull the exhaust fuse or change out the exhaust because they think it too quiet. Having the option to be as quiet as the ZL1 is a plus.
