I'd like to vent my hood without replacing or repainting it. I figure if I cut through the vinyl, worse case I'd have to replace the stripes, so I'm looking to do something in the striped area of the hood.
I was thinking along the lines of something like this but I'm open to suggestions (holes, bolt up louvers etc):
