Testing has shown that the 2" and 1-7/8th headers have similar gains in the lower RPMs. The 2 inch will make more higher in the RPMs. Any losses down low will be minimal if any at all. And with forced induction or more extensive mods, the gap will become wider with the 2 inch. They are definitely not a waste.
