The left side of my face is a "mod" from a drivers door window blowing through the cabin, with the front windshield coming right behind it making like a cheese grater. I still remember the train of thought "OH SH%&*#$, I can fly!, bump, ouch, bang, OUCH!, BOOM, F&%$@# that hurt!" Safety gear is never to be scrimped on.
Then again I saw a HUMMER2 in the Rockies that dropped of a rock shelf and all the air bags went off. There wasn't any other damage and the shelf was only like 18 inches. They were stuck because the truck I guess has a engine shut off/fuel pump shut off when the air bags deploy.
