On the con side the MGW is notchy, and feels like it's grinding or "rolling chunky logs" going into second under sedate to normal driving/shifting. Prior to the install I actually liked the stock shifter--it was smooth and quiet and I never went into 4th from 5th. Granted it had a sloppy feeling and had a long throw, but all-in-all the stocker wasn't bad.

Agree. This forum had me almost sold on the MGW, but i got the chance to sit in a member's car with one, and had the same thoughts as you. So I still have the stock shifter in.
