Personally I wouldn't have much of a problem with either three (L76, LS2 or LS3) though my fingers are crossed for the LS3. The first two are nothing to look down on, their both still great engines. The L76 has 362 @ 87 octane a little tweaking would get you an easy

20- 25 hp at 93 octane. + it also has DOD same as the LS2 and probably the LS3. It's just gonna be very interesting to see just what we do get under the hood, but I'll still most likely buy in 09.
