Only works if the employee discount pricing is less than the "best offer".

Employee discount has changed in how it's administered nowadays. Used to be that, in general, there'd be MSRP, Supplier Discount, and Employee Discount pricing. With the Employee discount giving the best price. And all these are set by the manufacturer.

Now, there's basically MSRP, Preferred Pricing, and Employee Vehicle Allowance (EVA). Supplier and Employee discounts include Preferred Pricing. Then, employees can get an EVA on top of the Preferred Pricing. And this varies, based on models, how fast a type of car sells, etc.

In addition, if you qualify for any other factory incentives, MOST of the time the EVA pricing is able to be stacked with it. Such as cash back offers, etc.

If you have the GMExtendedFamily Card, this is the only credit card that allows you to combine redeemable card points IN ADDITION to Preferred Pricing and/or EVA.

And of course, the EVA and Preferred Pricing is accepted or not based on the dealer's participation in the program or GM's allowable vehicles (currently, ZL1 is excluded from EVA pricing). But they either participate or they do not. A dealer cannot pick and choose who they allow to use an employee discount.

Know what your EVA will be, as applicable. Go make your best deal. If it is somehow BETTER than the PP/EVA, then jump on it.

Keep in mind too, that using EVA means also that they can only charge a maximum $75 paperwork fee (unless state law dictates otherwise). Preferred pricing and MSRP or haggle prices do not. So if they normally charge you $250 for that, an EVA can save you $175 off of that, too.

Best to check with your local dealer for programs, etc. Do your homework.
