I havn't seen the car yet. My friend doesn't know a whole lot about vehicles. He told me it's tbi. I believe he has this engine: L03 V8 1988-1992 5.0L 305cid TBI 170@4000 255@2400 Anyone know the Compression ratio?

I think he just wants to do a few mods to it and doesn't want to swap a 350 into it at this time. What are some free mods (besides the obvious) and cheap bolt ons he can do to it? Any junk yard parts that are interchangable? That will bolt up with no or little modifications needed? Any recommend exhaust size?
The LB9 305 TPI from 85-92 made 190-220 hp. Sounds to me these came in the trans am and irocs so, would be tough to find. Anyone know why the LB9 made more power than the TBI L03?
