as Mike said, apply the lube to the inside of the busing where the metal ferrules go, then wipe off the extra, and install the bushings in the car.
If you have inserts they do not require lube, just install them and your good to go.

Guys,
what Rob is saying is critical. You coat the outer bushing and you will have problems and no warranty! We can tell if there was lube on the outer bush. And if you by chance have coated the outer bushing, you need to remove them, clean them with denatured alchohol, and reinstall.
