As for what trans? I think it would cost a lot of money to go with anything except what was designed for it... However the 6L50 and 6L45 share a lot of common parts, I believe both are even available in some BMW cars, so surely there are some stronger aftermarket parts available to beef up the trans your car came with to make it last.

yea these are medium duty transmissions, and pretty durable for what they are. I will never have to worry about building the transmission in my car with the power level I am aiming for. Especially, since I will not be running drag radials and it is a v6. Does the new cts vsport twin turbo have a 6l50? I know it's running 420hp from the factory. I think I was looking at this the other day,,,wonder if you could tune some more performance from this.
