I agree that they should stay the same.
But, (spoiler alert if you haven't seen it), remember, Bumblebee goes from that crappy 2nd Gen to a sweet 5th Gen in the movie....what's to say he doesn't want to "upgrade" in 2010 and drop the top...besides, by then, Sam and Mikaela may want to move up from "last years model" as well....lol
Maybe they should just have another Autobot show up....you know, Bumblebee's twin...he could be the convertible....
