Kief's in Lawrence, KS

Kief's is closing the car audio department. Having spoken to one of the managers, the reasoning is that car audio has peaked as a result of OEM integration difficulties. Basically, cars have gotten too hard to modify, and that makes it time-consuming and expensive. To compensate, Keif's would have to add staff, raise rates, and spend more time on cars, all of which makes it hard to turn a profit since car audio buyers don't want to spend the money on a top-notch system that takes hours to install and possible damage to their vehicles.

If you want some cheap audio equipment, hit up Kief's while they're selling off their merchandise.

It's very unfortunate that they are leaving this industry since they are local leaders in audio equipment and general knowledge of car systems. Besides that, they carried top brands and took care of consumers' cars better than anyone else in town. They will continue to sell home systems, and I encourage all locals to continue giving Kief's their business based on both the quality of products and the quality of service.
