not all roots superchargers will sit nicely under a normal. it all depends on the size of s/c, like the LS9 and the LSA superchargers are not very large at all. the magnuson s/cs are beautiful for the LS series motors and sit nicely right in place of the stock intake manifold.
but most of the "thru the hood" ones are like the old weiand 6-71s, 8-71s and 14-71s. along with the car running carbureted setup, which adds height in and of itself.
LS guys get it easy, all they ever made for the LT1's were centrifugal style. which I honestly dislike.... im a positive displacement kind of guy.
in fact my little project im working on now for my LT1 is a roots style s/c with methanol injection.
