I used a heat gun, fishing line, and goo gone. I would heat up a letter for several seconds, saw it from the adhesive with the fishing line, repeat. Then you're left with all the adhesive. I would soak the letters for a while and start rubbing it off with a cotton rag. Then repeat that step.

I'm not sure if there is any easier way, but I got the lettering off the sides and the rear bowtie off this way. It took a little while, (over an hour) but it worked well enough and didn't hurt the paint.

Note: I did wash the area afterwards to get rid of any goo gone that was still on the paint. I wouldn't want to let that stuff sit on it for too long.
