Well that would make it work, but I'm unsure of the tach calibration procedure on a modern multi-coil vehicle. It certainly won't read correctly if it's some universal tach intended for older vehicles.

I would call Auto Meter and ask them tomorrow. They are always willing to offer advice about what product you should buy and inform you of any extra items you may need to make it function on your specific vehicle.
