Update: well I just pulled into my driveway from the opposite direction I normally do and it scraped on the drivers side, I am glad I put the door edge guard on the bottom because it saved any damage to the splitter itself. Since I was coming in and turning left into my drive way I was actually going faster than I would normally coming in from the other direction so I think the speed is what actually got me.
Thanks for making me aware of the hazards involved in turning left into a ramp-up entrance. Not only do you go faster to get across an oncoming traffic lane, but you enter from a larger angle. I thought about you and went around the block when approaching my local Auto Zone.
