The way iPods store music is engineered specifically to prevent you from using the music that's on an iPod. They store music in a messed up way. You can put un-messed music on them as a USB Mass Storage Device, but then the iPod can't play it.
sorry let me make myself clear. the Device (stock stereo) just needs the codec to play the AAC format. The ipod will play through the USB on my home stereo. Also the Sony Playstation 3 will play it thorough the USB ports on it also. . .but yea.
