You can't really "de-tune" a V-8. You might try leaning it out, but leaning it out creates heat. Catalytic converters like heat, but not too much heat. Too much heat can melt the catalytic converter down.

You will do best by driving easier, watching your tire pressure, short shifting, and cruising at a lower speed.
