The problem with this analogy is, that he recorded this in his own personal property and he does not have to have anyones approval / consent to do so . There is no law against doing that in this country that I know of . It just so happened that he captured a very interesting conversation concerning his vehicle . This really does not look good for the dealership or GM and will affect many peoples attitude toward this dealership and in part toward GM. Hope all gets resolved so you are left whole and in this case I do believe punitive actions are in order .

Likely not. If that’s the case it could be you being arrested by the police regardless of what was caught on the recording!
