When your speedo is off it is off by a percentage, not by a set number. If you change your gears by 10% then your speedo is off by 10% At 10 mph it will be off by 1 mph, at 50 mph it will be off by 5 mph, at 80 mph it will be off by 8 mph, ect. As you can see you can't just say your speedo will be off by X mph, unless of course you say your speedo will be off by X mph at X mph.
