Both do essentially the same thing - force more air into the engine. The turbo uses exhaust gas to spin a turbine that pressurizes the air. The downside is the heat they generate- some people love them (I do). Superchargers use a belt that is attached to the motor to pressurize the air.

My opinion is the supercharger is the best setup for the Camaro, but there are some remote mount turbo's that kick ass, I wouldn't mind riding in a Camaro with those rear mount turbo's.

As to breaking the engine, both put extra load on the engine, so either could break it just as fast- more than likely though, the turbo or supercharger wouldn't break it, you would by pushing it too hard.

You cannot use both at the same time, you have to pick one!
