Very few of the cross rams were ever used on the street, the single four barrrel carb was quite enough for the street as it was a Holley 780cfm double pumper. Once you made some linkage adjustments to the carb to better control the secondaries and or re-jetting, you were pretty much at optimum gas intake for the 302cid engine as built at the factory. Back in '69 I found a lot of improvement to be had from ignition improvements like a dual point distributor. Chevrolet Dyno charts from back in the day show the single four barrel producing 440hp@ 7,400 rpm and the cross ram dual quads producing 463hp@ 7,400 rpm.
