hey guys! This isn't Camaro related... but at least it is Chevy and Florida related.
My dad has a 1980 Scottsdale it pretty damn good shape, but he has been wanting to have it restored for a little while and asked me to do some research into the best places to do it (he doesn't mind traveling a few hours to have it done, in or out of Florida).
There isn't much rust on it at all, just some at the bottom of each door. The seat would need to be re-upholstered, carpet on the floor board, door panels worked on a little, repainted (and frame coated).
Mechanically, it runs pretty well but the transmission leaks and the engine idles high and runs a bit hot in the summer. I think he's looking to also have the block rebuilt and cleaned up.
Anyone know of some great/reputable shops that can do body and mechanical work? He doesn't want to go the cheap route - he wants it done right, but also doesn't want to spend a fortune on it.
