Yes, maybe not heavily modded. That was an overstatement. You are right. But you do not want to meet a heavily modded L99 with a heavily modded ZL1.
Check out the fast lists. It is not too hard to get an L99 in to the 11s with boltons and 10s with internal mods with no FI. The Bolton L99s are neck and neck with Stock ZL1s. Same story with stock displacement Heads/cam/bolton L99s and bolton ZL1s. And have a look at the L99 power adder list. More L99s than ZL1s in the 9s. The three fastest ZL1s are shop cars. Same with L99s. Of course there are many more L99s.
Just sayin L99s are faster for the $$ spent.
