well, one thing with cutouts is that when they are open, the exhaust is mainly flowing out of the cutout while some is still flowing thru the rest of the exhaust.
with a diverter, all of the exhaust is now dumping earlier in the stream.
now depending on the layout, a diverter can be better as it is allowing all of the exhaust gas to dump out at one point. but it can also cause a slight restriction based on the tubing setup.
both are great, both have their own sound (which is a big decision for getting one over the other). as for which is better, whichever you want to be.
