You don't need a torque wrench for oil changes. The place you really do need one is for tightening lug nuts... I'd never try to guess at 140 ft-lbs. I'm hesitant to hit 140, so I usually set the wrench for 130. But more important that the actual torque is that they are all tightened the same.

For this, you'll need a heavier duty 1/2" drive (you'll need the longer handle). I buy a lot of cheap tools from Harbor Freight... great place to get a cheap floor jack and hand tools - but I would never use one of their torque wrenches.

The one from Northern Tools is probably OK, or wait for Sears to sell theirs at half price.
