Unscrew the plastic cap on the nut. Then unscrew the nut. That's all. Nothing to hold or come apart. You really need an impact wrench to do it. Makes it much easier. Torque spec. Didn't think they had one. I've never torqued a strut, I've change several dozen or more of them. Just tighten it tight, it's a lock nut also.
