No kidding! The thing is, this certainly was not the only lap they ran, but still the fastest. If you read the Chevy press release on the Z28-

they actually surpassed this claim by .8 seconds. I actually thought they were referring to VIR, but I don't know.
The car will be truly awesome for track rats. I still think it also speaks to how much a marvel the ZL1 is, to run such a close time with all the amenities it has (I am clearly biased lol).
The interesting time would be from second, third etc. consecutive laps where heat soak would be an issue for the ZL1.
