hello to the forum

I am as old as dirt but I love those Camaros.
Since I am new to this group, I wanted to say hello.
Although I was one of the 250 people who was to witness the proto, and at the last minute, I got sick (the shingles-very painful) and couldn't go.
My friends picked up my name badge and the press kit WITHOUT the periscope!
I swore that I would never buy another after my '94, I have owned a 68, 71, 86, 94, but I sure as H#ll going to but me a 08/09.
We all know the 6L, Z28 is coming BUT an SS with a 7L (what is it that people do not understand about a 427?) may just be rumor.
I'm with Scott, don't listen to rumors...
Some of you may recognize my car or know me from Carlisle, Y2K Indianapolis, or some other well known National or regional shows and I say hi to all.
A short story about my blessed and long gone 1968 Camaro Z28.
I ordered the car, it was a one-off by today's standards. It was ordered in Late Feb but not delivered until April! I was a college senior with a job offer and I could make the payments. I got drafted-the VietNam war was raging-the Tet offensive was scaring everyone.
In the summer of 1969, I got orders to go to Nam. I took my car to my parents house, put it up on blocks, drained everything, covered the car.
That winter was really tough on New England, and my Dad couldn't get his own car off the street. He sold my car! Massachusetts was not a title state then and he could do it.
I remember getting the "good news, I sold your car"-for half of the $4200 the car had cost-that was a lot of money for a Camaro then-it truly was great-first kid on the block with a STEREO FM radio! No oe had ever seen a real wood steering wheel...
I sent him a live round from my M-16.
Since then, all my Camaros were stock Chevy dealer inventory-not this time boys, I'm gonna order me one...
