Keep them clean.
Do not let brake dust to accumulate and sit on them for any extended period of time.
Apply polish asap.
As most here know, I use Zaino, and I've Zainoed every set of wheels, and no problems.
Just keep them clean and keep them waxed/polished, and you'll be fine.
