To be honest, the difference isn't huge, so it's defiantly not something you'll ever get annoyed of, but it's better than when the valve is closed.
Just and idea and might save you a few bucks. It's a little mod that takes 2 mins and is obviously free to do.

It sucks - but groaning on of bass tends to give me headaches. I actually have a switch I'm going to use - just pretty much a standard on off metal switch I can throw in there so I can turn it on and off (costs about 5 bucks lol)
