Today was a good work day we installed a complete Brembo Brake kit from a
2SS/RS and put them on my 2LT/RS.
First off special thanks to Fesler Built (
www.feslerbuilt.com) for the OEM Brembo brakes off a 2010 Camaro SS I was able to pick up a complete kit from them (take off) rotors, pads, calipers, and brake lines).
We started this morning around 9:30-10am and we finished just after 12 noon. The front SS rotors and calipers bolt right up no modifications needed.
The rear SS rotors are a good 1-2" larger than the V6 rotors so you have two options replace the rear brake rotor shield with one from the SS cars or trim the existing one by 5/8" and the rotors will clear with no issues. The Brembo calipers mount up to all of the existing holes and the V8 brake lines or aftermarket ones are a must to reach.
I can tell what a difference in stopping power well worth the time in upgrading.
V6 owners with the RS package will have no issues with installing these.
