Have you considered an LS motor?
I'm betting you could build an LS motor cheaper, and also, consider the weight advantage versus a big block.
As I've posted elsewhere, I have a buddy who owns his own shop, and we've been talking about the possibility of putting the LS7 in my SS. Swapping in a LS motor is easier than installing a big block.
